Washington, D.C.-based Levick, a top public relations firm, was tasked with creating a striking thirty-second TV commercial that promoted CASE Construction’s home improvement work. With the media buy already purchased, the firm set out to find a video production partner that was capable of broadcast quality work and top-notch creative insight. Impressed with previous projects, Levick approached Green Buzz Agency with an idea in mind, hoping to produce a commercial featuring the construction over time of a kitchen and bathroom.
During pre-production, GBA jumped in with both feet, strategizing with Levick every step of the way. In a highly collaborative process, the two teams scripted the commercial. GBA used its expertise in visual storytelling to offer creative insight on how to strengthen the script, from camera angles to movements within the physical space. Discerning the advantages and obstacles of each location is crucial when selecting the perfect space, especially if it’s a kitchen that will be torn out and upgraded over the course of the shoot. GBA’s producer used her foresight to select the locations that would pose the least amount of problems. Once the shoot was organized and ready, production began.
As the creative force behind the visual direction, GBA’s production team ensured that Levick’s vision was captured on video. With diligent planning and execution, GBA was able to match the shots captured of the kitchen over time.
GBA then brought the raw footage to life in the editing room. The post-production team ventured into taking hours of footage and whittling it down to an exciting thirty seconds. Selecting the right shots and finding the right pace can be the most difficult part of any production, but the team found success and produced an impressive advertisement.
Throughout 2015 and into 2016, a very pleased Levick and CASE aired the spot. Since the project, Levick has continued to solicit GBA for additional projects.
