Role Overview:

Do you have a passion for telling stories through beautiful cinematography? Have you lit elaborate interview setups and captured stunning b-roll on run and gun shoots? Are you a gear head or someone who likes to research, test, fix, and organize film equipment? Are you skilled in problem-solving on the fly, and have a love for implementing best practices? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then we’d like to consider you for a role on our creative, dynamic, fast-growing team!

 

Breakdown of Duties:

  • 60% Field Production – Video Shoot crew member who should be able to fill any of the following roles on set: Director of Photography, Camera Operator, Grip, Gaffer, and Audio Tech. 
  • 20% Studio Management Keep all equipment organized/maintained, repairing equipment as needed, assisting producers with planning for their shoots and preparing the appropriate gear, researching and purchasing new equipment, keeping equipment schedule up to date, picking up, shipping and returning rental equipment.
  • 15% Post Production – Assistant editing, labeling and organizing footage, pulling selects, content cut creation, music research, managing plug-in licenses, archiving old projects.
  • 5% IT – Server Maintenance, Media Backup/Redundancy Solution, Basic IT Troubleshooting

 

Must Have:

  • Ability to work out of Old Town Alexandria in VA.
  • Cinema-camera experience (Canon C-Series/Red/Arri/BMC).
  • High level proficiency in lighting and grip.
  • Experience operating camera stabilizers (Glide cams, gimbals, and sliders)
  • Knowledge of how to professionally light and shoot on a green screen.
  • Interest in staying up to date with the latest gear and equipment.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and Mac.
  • Knowledge of project management principles with ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset and great communication skills.

Have ever taught yourself a production skill set outside of the classroom on your own time.

Have drone flying experience

Know how to key a green screen and use other basic after effects tools

Can color correct and color grade footage

Have ever done sound design and sound mixing in post

Have built out story arcs with interview content

Have a basic understanding of RAID Server maintenance and an ability to troubleshoot
