We are looking for a Supervising Producer that will be in direct day-to-day oversight of our Producer team.

 

Green Buzz Agency is a highly decorated, award-winning video team (Emmy, Webby & Shorty) dedicated to pushing the limits of the production process to create exceptional video content for well-known organizations (Amazon, Hilton, Make-A-Wish Foundation, ACLU) and national media platforms (Axios, HGTV, SYFY, Showtime, Nickelodeon, NBC).

Responsibilities:

  • Be a coach and champion for your team and support them to deliver their best – by being knowledgeable of their projects and proactive in identifying and solving problems. This includes:
    • Providing real time feedback on creative, technical, approach, client management, etc;
    • Connecting your team to appropriate resources;
    • Escalating problems when necessary.

 

  • Help build a culture where there are no surprises:
    • Provide regular, ongoing feedback focused on strengths and areas of improvement, in both job performance and exhibiting GBA core values.
    • Conduct standing 1:1 meetings with all direct reports at least bi-monthly.
    • Recognize your team when they have performed exceptionally well, have taken big personal leaps, or exhibit an admirable attitude.
    • Provide fair, direct and timely feedback when improvement is needed.
    • Participate in on-going, goal-driven coaching for your teams.
    • Lead annual and mid-year reviews for your team.

 

  • Train new members of your team:
    • Prepare new hire weekly onboarding timeline for first month of employment, utilizing checklist provided by Operations team.
    • Oversee all onboarding activities and delegate as needed.
    • Set weekly meetings with new staff members immediately to provide a standardized forum to check in on progress of onboarding and cover any questions.

 

  • Be an organizational leader:
    • Model and drive our company’s core values
    • Use our mission, vision and values to provide direction for you and for your team.
    • Ensure strong collaboration and coordination with other teams and staff and hold your team accountable.
    • Value and build your individual team
    • Communicate and support broader organizational messages and policies
    • Proactively communicate with Department Lead on critical information about team members, projects, schedules, opportunities and initiatives
    • Identify areas for team and company growth and suggest solutions and pathways to implement
    • Design and implement processes, and resources in coordination and collaboration with the Director of Operations

 

  • Assist in scheduling and assigning projects:
    • Consider competency and availability of team members and the opportunity provided by the project.
    • Participate in the transition of projects from one team member to another when necessary.
    • Draw upon additional resources/ your DL when needs extend beyond your team.
    • Use summary views in Hive and check-ins with your team to keep track of your team’s work.

 

  • Review your team’s PTO and manage schedules, evaluating the impact of requested PTO on team workload and coverage.

 

  • Manage and execute your own portfolio of client work.

  • Have taught yourself a production skill set outside of the classroom on your own time.
  • Enjoy developing series concepts for digital or TV shows.
  • Are proficient in Digital Editing, After Effects, Photoshop, Cinematography, Art Direction, or an area related to software engineering.
  • Understand SEO, Website Design, Graphic Design or Media Analytics.

Considerations:

  • Staff is in office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and remote Monday and Friday.

  • There is some travel involved in the position. There are likely 8-10 travel trips throughout the course of the year that will be two to five days in length.
  • We work with a large variety of companies and other agencies and need full time staff to be seen by our clients as members of Green Buzz Agency. Plus, we do not want to compete against ourselves. Therefore, freelancing on the side for pay is not an option as a full time employee. If you have a passion project you are not being hired for, that is totally acceptable.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year

Requirements

A full grasp of the end-to-end video production process.

Knowledge of project management principles with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Great communication skills.

The Supervising Producer has oversight for many aspects of the production process. This includes being the main point of contact for a roster of clients during projects. The projects are original video content typically distributed online (digital series). Other platforms include Live Event or TV commercials. The style of projects range from documentary, scripted narrative, to motion graphics and other styles.

Experience leading and managing staff.

Strong and established ability to execute all phases of the production process from start to finish for a wide variety of clients. Including but not limited to; casting research, creative concept generation and strategy, pitching clients on ideas, attending shoots and running shoots as a Producer/Director, hiring external crew (DPs, Audio Engineers, Motion Graphic Designers, etc), building budgets for a wide variety of project scopes, planning logistics for shoots both local and travel related, building proposals for prospective projects and more. Additionally, experience working closely and collaboratively with Editors and Motion Graphic Designers in Post Production to craft the stories of various projects.

A strong understanding of storytelling technique.
